Rim Fire Record Postponed

Sonora, CA — The Forest Service reports a delay in the release of the documents related to the salvage logging in the burned areas.  As reported earlier this week, the proposed Record of Decision including the final Environmental Impact Statement was due out today.

“We had every intention of putting that out for review today,” says Stanislaus National Forest Spokesperson Rebecca Garcia. “Due to contract issues with the printer they will go out on Wednesday, August 27th.”The issue involved the “printer not being able to produce the document in the time frame allotted,” according to Garcia.

The “Record of Decision” will be finalized on August 28. You will be able to view the documents then on the Stanislaus National Forest website. Salvage logging operations could still be held up by appeals or lawsuits.
