Jackson Fire Traffic Alert

Moccasin, CA — Some motorists’ evening commute may be disrupted. The CHP reports the fire at the intersection of Highway 49 and Jacksonville Road has forced the closing of Jacksonville Road at River Road with no access to Highway 120.

CHP Spokesperson Nick Norton says, “The roadway will remain closed throughout the evening commute as the road is not scheduled to be reopened until 6 pm.”

The Jackson Fire remains 15% contained at 60 acres. The flames broke out at 11:51 this morning. The fire is being fought from the ground and air. On scene are 15 engines, 9 hand crews and four dozers.  There are several structures in the area that firefighters are working to protect.
