Resources Reduced In Jackson Fire

Moccasin, CA — Firefighters are getting a handle on the blaze, which is now 68 acres and 50% contained.  That progress has Cal fire downsizing resources. At the height of the fire, there were 230 firefighters and 19 engines along with Columbia air resources.

Cal Fire Spokesperson Nancy Longmore says, “Now there are 150 firefighters, 15 engines, 6 hand crews and one water tender continuing on the mop up operations.”

The flames broke out just before noon yesterday on Jacksonville Road at the intersection of Highway 49. Several out buildings were threatened initially, but none were damaged.  Longmore says there is no estimated time of containment.
