Home Destroyed By Fire In Calaveras County

Mountain Ranch, CA — Cal Fire reports a Mountain Ranch home was a total loss after an early morning fire yesterday that spread to vegetation.

The flames broke out at 2:30 am on Wednesday at a home on the 4600 block of Railroad Flat Road near Old Emigrant Trail east. The flames spread to a small spot of grass and brush near the home. Crews were on scene for nearly seven hours.

Cal Fire estimates the damage at $150,000. What sparked the blaze is still under investigation.
