Columbia Air Tankers Back At Base

Columbia, CA — CAL Fire has not released where the air tanker that crashed this afternoon was based out of, but the Tuolumne-Calaveras Dispatch Center confirms that both of the Columbia Air Attack planes are safely back at base this evening.

A CAL Fire S-2T air tanker crashed down this afternoon while battling the Dog Rock Fire near Yosemite. The condition of the pilot is not immediately known. Officials are on scene have been dealing with difficult conditions in trying to reach the crash site.
