Fourth of July Weekend Events

There are several Fourth of July events plus other events this weekend in the Mother Lode. A reminder, as reported here, Don Pedro is not doing fireworks this year but Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys is. Ticket information for Ironstone’s Independence Day Celebration is here. Christian Heights has also canceled their Fourth of July celebration due to the drought. They support conserving water, and the event usually involves a lot of water on water slides.

Railtown 1897 is offering special 4th of July weekend activities and it is Columbia’s Glorious Fourth of July Parade. Be there at 10:00am to register yourself and your group, your pets (under 120 pounds), your bicycle, or your antique vehicle and join the parade.

Angels Camp is hosting a 4th of July Picnic in the Park starting at Noon in Utica Park.

The Arnold Lions 4th of July Pancake Breakfast will be offered both Saturday and Sunday starting at 7:30AM. After that, at 10AM, is a parade through Arnold and the 43rd Annual Sierra Nevada Arts & Crafts Festival. There is also the Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District Auxiliary Pancake Breakfast Saturday morning.

Patriotic activities in downtown Twain Harte start at 9am on Saturday, with the parade getting underway at 11:30am.

At the Calaveras Fairgrounds in Angels Camp have a look at some goats at the 49er Jubilee Boer Goat Show. Over in San Andreas Saturday evening enjoy the Calaveras Community Band July 4th Concert & BBQ, 5:00 pm to 7:45 pm at Turner Park.

For non 4th of July events enjoy a Rise and Shine Nature Hikes
at Pinecrest, and hear about how to be a Nature Detective later in the evening at the Pinecrest Amphitheater.

The InnovationLab in Sonora is offering a Basic Computer Coding Class
and the Concerts in the Pines is in the evening in Twain Harte. Over at the New Melones Lake Glory Hole Amphitheater you can participate in New Melones JEOPARDY.
