Fires In Forest Remain Small

Tuolumne County, CA — A two acre fire near the Donnell Reservoir is now 50% contained. The lightning caused fire was first spotted yesterday and is two acres in size. The fire is situated in steep and difficult terrain, which has posed challenges for firefighters building the containment line.

Meanwhile, the Rosasco Fire, is holding at 3.4 acres. It is situated near Rosasco Meadow, west of Cherry Lake, in the Groveland Ranger District. The fire was a holdover heat signature from the Rim Fire, which ignited nearly two years ago.

Forest Service resources also continue to assist CAL Fire on the 204 acre Big Creek Fire.
