Update at 8:15 pm: Cal Fire reports the Oak Fire in Cedar Ridge has grown by two acres, to 106. The containment is holding at 90%. Old Oak Ranch Road remains closed and motorists in the area are urged to slow for the safety of fire personnel. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Update at 7am: CAL Fire now says the containment on the Oak Fire is 90%. It remains 102 acres.
Original story posted at 6:45am: Many of the resources that were dispatched to Tuesday’s Oak Fire in the Big Hill area have now transitioned over to the Butte Fire.
CAL Fire reports that the Oak Fire is holding at 102 acres and it is 80% contained. All evacuation advisories have been lifted, and the Red Cross shelter at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds is now closed. Big Hill Road is back open, but Old Oak Ranch Road remains closed near the fire area. 10 engines are still assigned to the incident. Power has now been restored to all PG&E customers that went without electricity due to the Oak Fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
