Butte Fire Community Meetings

Mokelumne Hill, CA — Two community meetings are scheduled for later this week about the Butte Fire.

CAL Fire reports that the first will be held Wednesday at 6pm at the Mokelumne Hill Town Hall located at 8283 Main Street. CAL Fire will provide an update on the fire suppression efforts, and representatives from other local agencies will be on hand to answer questions.

A similar meeting will be held the following day, Thursday,  at 6pm, in the Railroad Flat Elementary School multi-purpose room. The school is situated at 298 Railroad Flat Road. Both meetings are open to the public. 475 homes have now been destroyed by the Butte Fire. It is 70,868 acres and 95% contained. Full containment is anticipated on Thursday.
