Sewer Project To Slow Sonora Traffic

Sonora, CA — Motorists will face some delays Wednesday as Tuolumne Utilities District (T.U.D.) continues work on the Gibbs Sewer Collection Improvements Project.

Flaggers will be conducting one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Racetrack Road near Leland Drive in Sonora, which could produce some delays for motorists. As reported last month, the project began October 19 and is slated to run through March 12 with crews repairing more than 15,500 feet of main pipeline and installing new sewer mains, 20 new sewer manholes, and repair another 14 sewer manholes.

NorCal Pipeline Services overseeing the work which will focus in the areas of Racetrack Road to Gopher Drive and Bay Meadow Drive to Johnny Avenue. The total cost of the project is nearly $1.4 million, according to T.U.D. officials.
