T.U.D. Begins Sewer Project
Sonora, CA — A roughly $1.4 million sewer project is getting underway this week in Tuolumne County.
T.U.D. was awarded a Community Development Block Grant to make several improvements in the area of Gibbs and Racetrack Estates. This area has a history of sanitary problems caused by pipe defects, greases and oils. The Gibbs Sewer Collection Improvements Project was designed by T.U.D. staff, and will rehabilitate 15,560 ft. of sewer main pipeline. The district reports it includes 490 ft. of new sewer main, 20 new sewer manholes, and repairing 14 existing sewer manholes.
The project began on Monday and is anticipated to conclude on March 12th, weather permitting. The work is focused in the area of Racetrack Road to Gopher Drive and Bay Meadow Drive to Johnny Avenue. You are advised to drive with caution while construction is taking place.
