$5.9-Million In SBA Butte Fire Loans

San Andreas, CA — Those hoping to receive low interest loans to help rebuild following the Butte Fire have until Monday to submit an application.

The federal Small Business Administration has loans available for home and business owners that were either uninsured, or underinsured. Loans are available with rates as low as 1.8% for homes and 4% for businesses.  Related to the Butte Fire, SBA spokesperson Yolanda Stokes says 45 loans have been approved thus far, totaling $5.9-million. 41 of those are home loans.

Stokes encourages anyone who may be on the fence to apply. She says being approved for a loan does not mean that you have to accept. You can stop by the Calaveras County Government Center through Monday to speak with representatives about the process, and to submit an application.

Monday is the final day to register for FEMA assistance and submit the SBA loan application.

If you have questions, you can also call the SBA at 1-800-659-2955.
