Mountain Lion Sightings In Angels Camp

Angels Camp, CA – Angels Camp Police have issued an alert to residents after two reports of big cats on the prowl in the city.

Residents have reported two cougar incidents to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife over the last month. Both involved three goats and a deer — no humans were harmed. It is unclear whether those animals were attacked or merely stalked by a mountain lion as state officials did not release more details on the encounters. However, wildlife officials remind the public that more than half of the land in California is cougar habitat. They state anywhere deer live there are sure to be big cats.
