Updated at 10:32am: CAL Fire reports that a 1/4 acre vegetation fire in Valley Springs is now contained. A majority of the resources assigned are now returning to base. The official cause is under investigation, but fire officials believe it could be related to a lawnmower.
Original story posted at 10:20am: Valley Springs, CA — There is a vegetation fire in Calaveras County in the area of Highway 12 and Toyon Circle.
CAL Fire reports air and ground resources are responding to the scene. Initial estimates put the fire at 1/4 of an acre. There are no reports of any structures being at risk.
