Dove Fire Reaches Full Containment

Mariposa County, CA — Firefighters are breathing a sigh of relief today when it comes to the Dove Fire that ignited during the noon hour yesterday in the Sierra National Forest in Mariposa County.

Forest Service Spokesperson Iveth Hernandez says, “At this time it is 100-percent contained and it stands at 50 acres. We still have about 100 personnel that are putting out some hot spots that are putting up a little bit of smoke.”

The fire ignited in the area of Jerseydale Road. A cause of the fire has not yet been released by the US Forest Service. No structures were damaged and no injuries reported. Air resources from the Columbia Air Attack Base assisted throughout Tuesday.
