Update: Jamestown Vegetation Fire Contained

Update at 2:40 p.m.: Firefighters and Columbia aircraft make quick work of a blaze near Railtown 1897 Historic Park. Cal Fire reports the flames have been contained at a quarter-acre. The flames broke out in a field around 2:10 p.m. at Ninth Street and Seventh Avenue. Cal Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff says initial reports of the fire spreading to a structure were false. Columbia aircraft and all but one engine have been called off the scene. The remaining crew will be mopping up for the next couple of hours.

Update at 2:25 p.m.: Cal Fire reports the fire has spread to a quarter-acre.

Original post at 2:18 p.m.: Jamestown, CA — Cal Fire is reporting a vegetation fire in Jamestown at Ninth Street and Seventh Avenue near Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.

Columbia airbase resources and others are now responding. Reportedly flames have spread to a structure. No other details are available yet.
