Update at 6:40 a.m.: There are reports of a man running from the fire area. Sonora Police and Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies are on scene questioning witnesses. All roadways have reopened.
Update at 6:10 a.m.: Cal Fire reports the flames started in a shed and then spread to a home but the fire has been contained. South Stewart and Washington streets are closed between Lytton Street due to the emergency activity in the area.
Original post at 5:47 a.m.: Sonora, CA — Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in Sonora. The flames broke out on the 520 block of South Stewart Street. There are reported evacuations taking place of neighboring homes. There is no word on whether the flames have spread to nearby vegetation. We will bring you up dates as soon as they come into the news center.
