Update: Columbia Air Resources Called To Merced

Update 5:10 p.m.: CAL Fire has released Columbia airbase resources from a fire near Dinosaur Point in western Merced County, now reported as contained at two acres.

Update 4:47 p.m.: CAL Fire describes the fire at about two acres in size by Dinosaur Point off Highway 152 near the windmills and tankers were working to contain it by dropping retardant.

Original Post 4:37 p.m.: If you heard planes overhead, CAL Fire reports that Columbia airbase resources are among those called to investigate a possible fire on the west side of Merced County in the vicinity of Dinosaur Point and San Luis Reservoir. No other details are available at this time.
