Update: Forward Rate Stopped In Vegetation Fire In Sonora Area

Update at 3 p.m.: Crews were able to quickly stop the forward rate of at a quarter of an acre. All Columbia aircraft have been called off the scene and are heading back to base. Three engines remain on scene in the 18200 block of Lambert Lake Road near Olov Road in the Lambert Lake Estates area off Old Wards Ferry Road. What sparked the blaze is under investigation. The fire was ignited just before 2:30 this afternoon.

Original post at 2:40 p.m.: Sonora, CA — Ground and air resources are heading to a vegetation fire in the Sonora area.

Cal Fire reports the flames broke out in the 18200 block of Lambert Lake Road near Olov Road in the Lambert Lake Estates area off Old Wards Ferry Road. There is no details on the fires size, the flame’s rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened.
