Update at 4:30 p.m.: Forest fire officials report the flame’s forward rate of spread has been stopped at a quarter acre. The brush fire is burning in the Cedar Ridge area along Keltz Mine Road and Keltz Way. All aircraft but a helicopter have been released from the scene. No structures were threatened.
Original post at 4 p.m.: Cedar Ridge, CA — Columbia aircraft is assisting with a vegetation fire in the Cedar Ridge area.
The blaze is in the Stanislaus National Forest Service Protection area. It broke out just after 3:30 p.m. along Keltz Mine Road and Keltz Way. Forest Fire officials report it is an eighth of an acre and moving at a slow rate of spread. We will bring you more details as soon as it comes into the news center.
