Crash Leaves Hundreds Without Power In Calaveras County

Valley Springs, CA — A vehicle smashed into a power pole and sparked a vegetation fire and power outage in Valley Springs.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 26 near Vista Del Lago Drive near the La Contenta Golf Course. The CHP reports the vehicle hit the pole and ignited a vegetation  fire nearby. Cal Fire dispatch reports the flames were extinguished quickly at about a half acre. There were no injuries in the wreck.

Additionally, more than 650 PG&E customers are without power in the areas of Highway 26, Gold Nugget and Partridge drives, including the La Contenta Golf Course. The company estimates the repair time to be around 8:15 p.m.
