Update: Big Hill Structure Fire Extinguished

Update at 1:45 p.m.:  Cal Fire reports ground crews made quick work of the fire on the 12700 block of Yankee Hill Road near Cattle Drive Trail. Cal Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports that a mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene. The flames spread to an outbuilding but not nearby vegetation, according to Shoff, who says the fire has been knocked down.

All air resources have been released back to Columbia. Ground crews will remain on seen for the next couple of hours mopping up. There is no word on what sparked the blaze.

Original post at 1:22 p.m.: Big Hill, CA – Columbia aircraft and ground resources are heading to a structure fire in the Big Hill area.

Cal Fire reports the flames broke out in the 12700 block of Yankee Hill Road near Cattle Drive Trail. Cal Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff report there are no details at this time as to whether the flames have spread to any vegetation. We’ll bring you more details as soon as they come into the news center.
