Update at 3:05 p.m.: Cal Fire reports crews have knocked down the flames in a Sheep Ranch area house fire in Calaveras County. Fire investigators are sifting through the rubble to determine what sparked the blaze just before 2 p.m. A neighbor initially reported smoke and flames shooting out of the home in the 12000 block of Armstrong Road near Scott Road off Sheep Ranch Road. When firefighters arrived on the scene the house was fully engulfed in flames. Cal fire reports the home was destroyed and crews will remain on scene for the next couple of hours mopping up.
Update at 2:30 p.m.: Fire crews continue to battle a house fire in the 12000 block of Armstrong Road near Scott Road in the Sheep Ranch area. When firefighters arrived on the scene the home was fully engulfed in flames. Cal Fire confirms that the flames have not spread to nearby vegetation or structures on the property but report there is no containment on the fire at this time.
Original post at 2:08 p.m.: Sheep Ranch, CA — Firefighters are responding to a structure fire in the Sheep Ranch area.
A neighbor reported smoke and flames shooting out of the home in the 12000 block of Armstrong Road near Scott Road off Sheep Ranch Road. There are reports of possible gun shots heard coming from the home. There is no word on whether the flames have spread to vegetation. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
