Fatal Plane Crash In Oakdale

Sonora, CA — The FAA and NTSB are investigating a deadly plane crash that occurred Saturday morning at the Oakdale Airport.

The plane made a hard landing, hit a pickup truck, and set both on fire. The small plane and truck were fully engulfed in flames when the first responders arrived on scene. The Stanislaus County Fire Department reports the pilot was the sole person on board the plane and did not survive the crash. The pilot’s identity has not been released, pending notification of family. The incident occurred at around 10:30am.
