Calaveras Added To FEMA Disaster Declaration For individual Assistance

San Andreas, CA — Federal assistance will available to Calaveras County residents impacted by flooding and other storm impacts.

At this morning’s Board of Supervisors meeting, Calaveras OES Director, John Osbourn, announced, “FEMA amended the disaster declaration to include Calaveras County for individual assistance.”

He says Calaveras residents impacted will become eligible for things like community disaster loans, crisis counseling, disaster legal services, disaster unemployment assistance, fire management assistance grants, and disaster housing assistance.

Osbourn adds, “We are 26 days into a very deep response, and thus far we have estimated our losses at just over $3-million, as a county. As we speak today, the CAL OES and FEMA public assistance teams are out assessing damages.”

The FEMA Disaster Declaration was originally issued on January 14 for various parts of California, and Osbourn says he was notified that it was amended, to include Calaveras, yesterday afternoon.
