Update at 6:05 p.m.: PG&E reports crews have made significant progress in bringing the lights back on for all but 387 of the 3,104 customers who were without electricity for a couple of hours this afternoon in the Columbia and Sonora areas of Tuolumne County. Those remaining without power are along Shaws Flat, Springfield and Parrotts Ferry roads. The utility reports that weather is to blame and the restoration time is to be announced. There remain three power outages in Calaveras County that can be viewed below. They are also attributed to weather and have no estimated repair time.
Update at 4:50 p.m.: A total of nearly 5,400 PG&E customers are without power in the Mother Lode. There is a new outage in the Paloma area of Calaveras County affecting 202 customers north of Highway 26. That combined with two remaining outages, one in the Valley Springs, Burson and Wallace area and the other one in the Mokelumne Hill area brings the total to 2,281 customers. Additionally, a power outage in Tuolumne County has left 3,104 customers without lights, with the details below.
Update at 4:20 p.m.: There is a new PG&E power outage stretching from downtown Sonora through Columbia to New Melones Lake. The utility reports that 3,104 customers lost their lights just before 3:30 p.m. Those impacted are along South Washington Street, Stockton Road, North Washington Street/Highway 49, mostly on the west side of the highway, and Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia. This outage is also blamed on the weather, and the restoration time is to be announced. Further details on outages in Calaveras County can be viewed below.
Update at 3:25 p.m.: PG&E is reporting that one of three outages in Calaveras County that happened just before noon has been resolved. The lights are back on for 396 customers on the northwest side of Lake Tulloch. The largest outage remains in the Valley Springs, Burson and Wallace areas, stretching along Highway 12 and Southworth and Ospital roads. It is impacting 2,019 customers. Another 60 customers south of Highway 26 between Mokelumne Hill and Glenco have no lights. All of these outages have been attributed to weather, with no restoration times available at this time.
Original post at 2:40 p.m.: Sonora, CA – PG&E is reporting that nearly 2,500 customers in Calaveras County are without power this afternoon, many losing electricity just before noon.
The largest outage is in the Valley Springs, Burson and Wallace areas, stretching along Highway 12 and Southworth and Ospital roads. It is impacting 2,019 customers. Another outage has left 396 without electricity in the Lake Tulloch area on the west side of the lake. Finally, 60 customers south of Highway 26 between Mokelumne Hill and Glenco have no lights.
All of these outages have been attributed to weather, with no restoration times available at this time.
