Update: Fire In Calaveras County

Update at 4:15 p.m.: CAL Fire has dubbed a grass fire near Milton Road and Highway 4 east of Copperopolis the “Snow Fire.” CAL Fire spokersperson Emily  Kilgore reports that firefighters have stopped the forward progress of the estimated 15-acre fire.Crews will continue to work towards full containment and mop up for the next couple of hours. What ignited the blaze is under investigation.

Original post at 3:44 p.m.: Copperopolis, CA — Air and ground resources are battling a grass fire near Milton Road and Highway 4 east of Copperopolis.

CAL Fire spokersperson Emily Kilgore reports that firefighters are at the scene of a 15-acre vegetation fire. No structures are currently threatened, and there is no information on the flames’ rate of spread at this time. An update will be provided as soon as new information comes into the newsroom.
