Update at 7 p.m.: The Zamora Fire burning along Highway 132 in the La Grange area is contained at 23.8 acres, according to CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore. She adds that no structures were threatened as the blaze ignited between Fields and Hayward roads, which is rural area. Crews will continue mopping up and watching for hot spots into the evening. What sparked the fire is under investigation.
Update at 3:10 p.m.: CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports that the fire is being called the “Zamora Fire” although the location has changed from North Zarzamora Street to between Fields and Hayward roads on Highway 132 in the La Grange area. Kilgore indicates that the blaze has reached seven acres but the flame’s forward rate of spread has been stopped. No structures were threatened and what ignited the fire is under investigation. Crews will remain on scene working towards full containment and mopping up for the next several hours.
Original post at 2:50 p.m.: Tuolumne County, CA — Ground and air resources are responding to a reported vegetation fire in the Lake Don Pedro area. CAL Fire reports it is in the vicinity of Highway 132 and North Zarzamora Street. There is no word on the fire’s size or the flame’s rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened at this time. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the news center.
