Update: Abandoned Bulldog Finds Forever Home

Jamestown, CA – Tuolumne County Animal Control updates on an abandoned bulldog recently rescued in the Columbia area that has found a forever home.

As we reported here last week, the pooch was found roaming around the Parrotts Ferry Bridge on the Columbia side, prompting a flood of calls to shelter officials. The pup was able to elude capture after several attempts by officers to collar her. They then decided to set a trap, and when she got curious enough to look inside the cage, she was rescued. Shelter officials update that the dog they named Daisy was put up for adoption at the end of last week. This weekend, she was adopted by the Waters family, who sent in pictures of a happy Daisy. Shelter officials added, “By the looks of it, she is fitting right in.”

Of note, last week’s story also included two other dogs recovering from surgeries to fix broken femur bones. In the end, the brindled-haired dog in the picture with the cone on his head had to have his leg amputated due to the severity of the break after he fell out of the bed of a moving truck on Highway 49 near Chinese Camp last month. They are still healing and will be put up for adoption once fully recovered, say shelter officials.
