Update at 2:15 p.m.: CAL Fire reports ground crews have made progress on a 5 to 10 acre escaped debris burn that ignited nearby vegetation on the 4000 block of River Ranch Road off Highway 49 between San Andreas and Mokelumne Hill.
Spokesperson Lindy Shoff report the flames forward rate of spread has been stopped and incoming crews have been called off the scene. Mopping is in progress as crews work to fully contain the blaze. No structures were threatened.
Original post at 1:50 p.m.: Mokelumne Hill, CA — Firefighters are battling a 5 to 10 acre fire located on the 4000 block of River Ranch Road off Highway 49 between San Andreas and Mokelumne Hill.
CAL Fire reports it is an escaped debris burn. Spokesperson Lindy Shoff notes the flame’s rate of spread is slow and no structures are threatened. Resources on scene include five engines and two water tenders with more ground resources on the way. However, no air support has been ordered at this time.
