Valley Springs, CA – Crews are working on ridding the Cosgrove Creek area of weeds in the Valley Springs area of Calaveras County.
Calaveras County Public Works has begun the Cosgrove Creek Vegetation Management 2024 and is working with CAL Fire on the project through the summer. Crews on foot, armed with weedeaters and chainsaws, are clearing vegetative material and debris in the riparian corridor along a two-mile section of Cosgrove Creek, south of Valley Springs, from Gold Creek Estates to Silver Rapids Road. This section of the creek is bordered by Highway 26, traverses a golf course, and passes through populated neighborhoods.
This project’s work hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. Crews working with chainsaws and other equipment will generate noise during daytime hours.
