Update: Fire In Clements Stopped

Update at 2:24 p.m.: CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports that forward progress has been stopped on the Johnson Fire at 18 acres. It was burning in the Clements area of San Joaquin County, near the Calaveras County line. A small crew will remain on scene for several hours, working towards full containment and then mopping. What sparked the blaze is under investigation. Further details on the blaze can be viewed below.

Update at 1:50 p.m.: The Johnson Fire burning in the 23000 block of East Acampo Road, near North Johnson Road in San Joaquin County, near the Calaveras County line, remains five acres in size. CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports that firefighters continue to “establish a fireline around the blaze.”

Original post at 1:04 p.m.: Clements, CA — Air and ground resources are assisting in fighting a fire in the Clements area of San Joaquin County, near the Calaveras County line.

It has been named the Johnson Fire. It is burning in the 23000 block of East Acampo Road, near North Johnson Road. The blaze is five acres in size and burning at a moderate rate of spread. There is no word as to whether any structures are threatened. We’ll pass along new details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
