Update at 2 p.m.: Crews are getting a handle on two vegetation fires, one is ten acres in size and the another is an acre, on either side of 26 Mile Road by Woodward Reservior in the Oakdale area of Stanislaus County. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports the acre fire has been contained and the forward rate of spread has been stopped on the other. All Columbia aircraft have been called off the blazes, which ignited near Eastman Road off Highway 120/108. Shoff says four engines will remain on scene with crews working to gain full containment and mopping up for several hours.
Original post at 1:30 p.m.: Oakdale, CA — Columbia aircraft and ground resources are battling two fires by the Woodward Reservoir in the Oakdale area of Stanislaus County.
Both blazes were ignited on either side of the roadway near Eastman Road off Highway 120/108. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports one fire is 10 acres in size and the other is an acre. The flames moving at a moderate rate of spread. Shoff says crews are getting a handle on the blazes and no structures are threatened.
