Update: Vegetation Fire On HWY 108 Contained

Update at 3:30 p.m.: A vegetation fire in Tuolumne County on Highway 108 has been contained at seven acres, according to CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff.  It was burning in grass west of Tulloch Road and east of Knights Ferry. All Columbia aircraft are returning to base. No structures were threatened. What sparked the blaze  is under investigation. Shoff details that crews will remain on scene mopping up and checking for hotspots for the next hour.

Original post at 3:15 p.m.: Knights Ferry, CA — Columbia air  and ground resources are battling a vegetation fire in Tuolumne County along Highway 108.

CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports the blaze is one to three acres and the flames area moving at a slow rate of spread. The fire is west of Tulloch Road and east of Knights Ferry. No structures are threatened at this time. We’ll bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
