One Mother Lode Fire Extinguished, Another Nearing Containment

Moccasin, CA – CAL Fire crews have gain containment on both the Flat and Horse fires that forced residents from their homes this past weekend and currently have burned a total of 240 acres.

Containment has grown from 70-percent to 93 this morning in the Flat Fire burning in the Moccasin area of Tuolumne County. The acreage is holding steady at 163 acres. Even better news regarding the Horse Fire burning along Stagecoach Drive near Horseshoe Road in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County; it has been fully contained at 80 acres.

Both blazes broke out on Saturday afternoon. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff says the investigation into what ignited the blazes is ongoing.
