Waverly Fire Is 75-Percent Contained

Linden, CA — There was no new growth overnight on the 12,300 acre Waverly Fire near Linden.

The fire ignited on Friday evening and initially there were some evacuation orders nearby. All earlier orders are no longer in place, as the forward rate of spread is stopped. All earlier road closures have also been lifted. Mop-up continues today.

Other large fires continue to burn throughout California. In Yolo County, there is no containment on the 16,500 acre County Fire. It ignited late yesterday afternoon near Highway 16. Multiple areas have been evacuated. The Pawnee Fire in Lake County, which ignited on June 23, is 14,150 acres and 73-percent contained.
