Update: Fire In Jenny Lind Area

Update at 2:13 p.m.: CAL Fire updates that a reported vegetation fire west of the Jenny Lind area of Calaveras County, just inside the San Joaquin County line, was not a wildfire. Instead, it was actually an agricultural burn taking place on Highway 26 near Shelley Road west of Ospital Road. They added that fire suppression equipment is in place with borders on all sides of the blaze.

Original post at 13:24 p.m.: Jenny Lind, CA — Air and ground resources are heading to a reported vegetation fire west of the Jenny Lind area of Calaveras County, just inside the San Joaquin County line.

A plume of smoke can be seen billowing into the sky in the image box photo. The flames broke out on Highway 26 near Shelley Road west of Ospital Road. Currently, there are no details regarding the fire’s size or the flames’ rate of spread, or whether any structures are threatened.
