Update at 7:55am: Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Andrea Benson reports that all occupants of a home that ignited on fire along Harrison Drive were able to safely escape. An additional home nearby was evacuated as a precaution. She notes that the cause may be linked to a space heater, but it is still under investigation.
Crews will remain on scene mopping up the fire over the coming hours.
Update at 6:45am: Fire officials report that good progress is being made knocking down the flames of a house fire in the 11000 block of Harrison Drive near Racetrack Road. You should continue to avoid the area.
Original story posted at 6:25am: Sonora, CA — Fire officials are on the scene of a residential structure fire reported in the 11000 block of Harrison Drive near Racetrack Road.
It is in the Gibbs Ranch area. First reponders reported the home is fully engulfed in flames. You will want to avoid the area and be prepared for activity.
The American Red Cross has been requested to help assist those impacted.
