Stanislaus National Forest, CA — Forest officials will soon begin work on a 260 acre prescribed burn in the Stanislaus National Forest.
The Bear Mountain Prescribed Burn will be 22 miles east of Groveland on Forest Road 1S03, in the vicinity of Ackerson and Bear Mountain. The burn will start within a window starting on April 29 and ending in late May. Forest Service officials say the burning will be monitored and conducted in accordance with state and county air quality guidelines. The exact dates that the burn will take place will depend on weather and air quality conditions. Smoke will be visible during certain periods.
