Wet Weather Douses Burn

Stanislaus National Forest, CA — A prescribed burn is on hold until conditions are right to strike the fire. Fire crews were set to ignite the flames for the prescribed burn south of Pinecrest near Crabtree Road on Tuesday. Click here for a map of the burn areas.

Stanislaus National Forest Officials report the weather was part of the problem. They say other factors like fuel moisture and air quality can also postpone a burn. A total of 141 acres will be burned with a low-intensity fire. Forty acres will be set on fire each day. The burn is scheduled to run through late May.
