Three structures along Highway 49 between Sonora and Columbia will be burned to the ground later this week.
The Sonora Fire Department will be hosting a fire training exercise beginning Thursday night and continuing into Friday. Fire Captain Grant Miller reports that the three structures are located in the 700 block of Highway 49, near the O’Hara Drive turnoff. One of which is a home that was significantly damaged by fire last summer.
Other fire agencies from across the area have been invited to participate. The exercise is expected to take place rain or shine. Don’t be surprised if you notice fire activity along Highway 49.
