Hot Temps Fire Hazard

CAL Fire has suspended all burn permits in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. That suspension was to start this coming Monday, June 18th, but due to this weekend’s heat they made it effect Friday, June 15th.

And CAL Fire has already battled two blazes in the area. Yesterday, Highway 4 was shut down for about an hour near Angels Camp. It took crews around 4 hours to get the 5 acre fire contained.

Also, crews made quick work of a fire on Red Hill Road in Calaveras County. They were able to douse the flames on 3 acres in just around a half hour.
