Fighting 800-Plus Acre Fire

La Grange, CA — Crews are still on scene this morning of an 840 acre fire along J-59 near Paseo Seven Legends.


CAL Fire reports that it started at 1:45pm yesterday and is 50 percent contained. Officials are assessing the fire this morning and plan to release updated information around 8:30am. Yesterday afternoon the fire destroyed one out building and three acres of an olive orchard. No additional structures are considered to be in danger as the forward spread has been stopped. The cause is still being investigated. CAL Fire is being assisted by the Tuolumne County Fire Department and the Stanislaus National Forest. To view a map of the area, click here.


Also yesterday afternoon, CAL Fire extinguished a 103 acre fire in the 4000 block of J 59. That one started during the noon hour.
