San Andreas, CA – CAL Fire says with our hot temps and thunderstorms bringing possible fire starts in the area they have called in extra staff to handle any flames that might ignite.
Spokesperson Nancy Longmore says “When they get situations like this when it gets extremely hot or there is really increased fire activity, we put special staffing patterns into effect that bring more staff back on or hold on duty. So currently we staffed Blue Mountain Lookout, all our hand crews, dozers and reserve engines are staffed.” She adds “We can also draw anywhere from the state if we need to do that.”
Longmore reminds resident to be very careful and don’t use mowers with blades as they can hit a rock, create a spark and ignite a blaze. She says use weed eaters instead.
