Stanislaus Forest Fire Update

Tuolumne County, CA – Forest Officials report the Stanislaus National Forest fire near Ascension Mountain in South Tuolumne County is contained.

The fire had grown from one to just over five acres Friday afternoon. They say fire fighters have a hose lay and cut hand line around the blaze.

Forest Spokesperson Jerry Snyder says “Multiple engines will work mop up. Crews will be working throughout the weekend trying to cool things down and catch anything that might look like a problem or hot spots.”

Snyder says no structures were in danger. He says an investigator has been called in to determine what sparked the blaze.
