Sonora, CA – Tuolumne County can file a “notice of completion” to the state regarding the J-59 improvement project.
The original contract awarded to Teichert Construction last July was for $1.5 million. As the project neared completion, some safety improvements were deemed necessary along some side slopes and shoulder areas. The total cost of the project eventually came to $1.7 million. The contract change was approved by the Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
Funding for the J-59 project came from multiple sources, including the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and Congressional earmarks.
