Sonora, CA — A half acre fire was contained this afternoon in the Stanislaus National Forest.

Forest Service Spokesperson Jerry Snyder says it started around 12:48pm in the Rushing Meadow area. It was approximately one mile from Lyons Dam Road. Snyder says it appears the fire was human caused, but adds that it remains under investigation.
