Cause Of Columbia Fire

Columbia, CA– An electrical power transformer was the cause of a quarter acre vegetation fire in Columbia yesterday according to Cal Fire.


The fire on the 21000 block of Shaws Flat Road began at 12:41 and was extinguished at approximately 2:30 pm. Cal Fire units from Columbia were dispatched as well as units in Standard and Mono Village, Columbia College and Sonora.


No injuries were reported. The estimated cost of damage to the vegetation is $50.00.
