Fire Burns Near West Point

West Point, CA — Firefighters are working to extinguish a roughly five acre vegetation fire in the area known as Blue Mountain in Calaveras County. It is just outside West Point.


The fire started yesterday afternoon, it was monitored overnight, and crews are going at it again this morning. No structures have been affected. The fire is near the middle fork of the Mokelumne River. Expect quite a little smoke in that area.
