Fire On S.P.I. Land Under Investigation

West Point, CA — Firefighters are still looking for the cause of a weekend vegetation fire near West Point.


The fire was in a fairly isolated area known as Blue Mountain near the Middle Fork of the Mokelumne River. A total of five acres was burned, and some of the property is owned by Sierra Pacific Industries.


CAL Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams says the fire was first reported on Sunday afternoon at 4:27pm. The estimated dollar damage is $20,000. No homes or buildings were damaged.
